Unfortunately, the online reviews weren't lying. I thought the criticism was exaggerated, but it's not. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's a HyperX product and is in the TOP 10 on Alza. After more than 10,000 hours of gaming, I know what to demand from gaming audio. For any kind of serious gaming, they are absolutely useless. If you're not just playing for fun and you care about winning, give these a wide berth.

The microphone is sufficient for general communication, for example on Discord.
Absolutely inadequate for playing any FPS games.
The sound in games is like it's coming from inside a tin can, extremely muffled. Trying different tried-and-tested sound profiles in various equalisers didn't help. It can't be saved with software.
A huge step backwards compared to the Cloud II. The Cloud III is no longer based on the original HyperX (Kingston) architecture because HP has taken over development.
You can't hear detailed high tones. It's impossible to tell if there's one or two players running behind you, only that someone is there.
Subtle sounds in the distance (footsteps, reloading, pulling out a grenade) all blend together.

Compared to the older cloud2/cloudx model, they are so bland, they don't draw you into the music/music as well because they have high mids. Even the equalizer didn't help by artificially boosting the bass and treble. Maybe if I wasn't used to good old headphones so good, but compared to the cloudX they are inferior in my opinion. (ironically at a higher price)
Hyperx app sometimes doesn't work on windows 11 but it can be fixed somehow from what I saw on yt
It has less bass but you can adjust this with the equalizer if the app works for you
