They don't work purely wired, they have to be connected wirelessly.
The Ngenuity application is rubbish. In the sound/microphone settings, it enables its own virtual profiles even when you disable them. What's more, the profiles sometimes drop out and Discord, for example, has quite a problem with them. However, you have to download the application for firmware updates and more detailed settings. After that, you can disable it from launching and only use it when you need to.
I have an Omen Transcend 14, which supports Instant Pair with these headphones, but it won't pair because the headphones can't be switched into this pairing mode. No support has been able to help me.
I have a larger head and it took me a while to get used to the headphones. They are made for smaller heads.

I've just unboxed them, so I'm testing them out. I'll update after I've used them for a while.
First impressions are very positive so far. The new HyperX NGENUITY software is easy to use (compared to the NGENUITY legacy) - the headset showed up on its own, suggested a driver update, etc. - the spatial audio in the software is shit, don't even try to turn it on. The EQ in the software is also a nice touch for improving the overall sound (raw is also pretty nice). My settings are as follows: 32Hz +3.9dB, 64Hz +4dB, 125Hz +1.8dB, 250Hz +1dB, 500Hz +0.5dB, 1kHz +0dB, 2kHz +1dB, 4kHz +1.3dB, 8kHz +0.7dB, 16kHz +0.8dB. For now, I'm giving it 5/5 on Alza, but subjectively it's more like a 4.6/5 for now.
