Don’t buy it — one of the arms fell off during assembly. The pipes aren’t cast perfectly straight, so you’ll end up with a miniature Leaning Tower of Pisa at home. The only part that might be made of steel is the heavy base, but the rest looks like metal-coated plastic, so, among other things, and it wears out quickly. The parts are not cast as a single piece; the arms are rather sloppily glued or welded on, so it’s no surprise that they’ll soon fall off if the clothes are hung up frequently. The bamboo parts are too soft, so they scratch easily; It’s not really for coats, more for shorts. That’s what happens when you hire a brilliant designer and then skimp on the materials. The result is a cheap knock-off that’s only good for use as a cheap decoration at best. It’s not worth the hassle of having to take it apart again, pack it up and lug it back to the AlzaBox.
