This is not so much a review of this fridge as it is a philippic of modern refrigeration equipment. We had a 15 year old Electrolux that didn't stop cooling and freezing, but started to fall apart. It was a refrigerator from a time when compressors were already very quiet and when cooling was mediated only by the back wall of the refrigerator, which thus passively cooled the interior space. Today's products offer a variety of features that manufacturers across the spectrum refer to with catchy names like Multiflow 360, Cooling 360, 6th Sense, EcoAirFlow, etc. The manufacturers tell us that these highly sophisticated systems maintain an even temperature throughout the fridge and that special zones, or zones, are used to keep the temperature evenly. drawers, known as cool fresh, multifresh, crispy, etc., are intelligently kept at lower temperatures to keep our food fresher for longer. But the reality is far more trivial to the point of being primitive. In fact, it is nothing more than the manufacturers adopting a very simple function from hot air ovens, where hot air is blown in by a fan to provide a more even temperature. So they just fitted the cooling system with a fan and placed vents in the back of the fridge to distribute the cool air to the different sections of the fridge. Slogans about the lower temperatures in the vegetable, meat and dairy drawers that smart fridges are supposed to provide are just gibberish. The fact that the temperature in these compartments is lower is mainly due to the law of physics, where the cold air sinks down (hence the famous fresh zones at the bottom) and the fact that they are largely closed boxes, which logically hold the temperature better than the open part of the fridge. There is no such thing as cooler air being fed into these zones through a separate circuit than into the rest of the fridge. The whole cooling system works identically to how it did 50 years ago, i.e. there is a thermostat in the fridge that switches the cooling system on when the temperature rises and off when it falls. And I'm getting to the point. New fridges, while maintaining the same external dimensions, generally have a smaller volume, because with the pressure on energy efficiency, manufacturers have had to reinforce insulation, which logically reduces the internal space. New refrigerators are largely noisier than refrigerators that are about 15 years old because the cooling system includes a fan that switches on whenever the cooling is activated. And because the new inverter compressors turn on much more often than the older ones, the refrigerator creates the sound image of an air conditioner. So what people complain about in many discussion forums is not the noise of the compressor (which is actually very quiet), but of the fan. And now specifically to this Hisense refrigerator. Many would think that a refrigerator from China would not be worth much. And you know what? They're wrong. For the money, it offers very good workmanship, standard functionality and features you'd only find in significantly more expensive premium brands. These include, first and foremost, a much better fitting of the door - the so-called. door to door, where the MDF cover plates are seated directly on the refrigerator door. This system is much more robust and the hinges of the fridge are really solid and strong. In addition, the fridge has an insulating sheet not only on the back wall but also on the inside of the door. The entire large bottom compartment in the fridge and two in the freezer are on metal drawers, so the drawers slide out completely and are much more stable. For fans of apps and smart solutions, the fridge can be controlled with a smartphone, which is not quite standard in this price range. The noise level of the fridge +/- corresponds to the manufacturer's data, when I repeatedly measured about 35.5 db with a noise meter. Is it too little or too much? If you have a solo kitchen, you can be completely at ease and you won't know about the fridge. However, if you have a kitchen and living room in one package, you won't be thrilled. The chances of you not noticing that the fridge is cooling are completely unrealistic. In the older fridges, the compressor switched on quite sporadically and most of the time, the fridge was completely silent. With "modern" inverter compressors, on the other hand, the refrigerator very often gets too cold and only occasionally stands still. And because of the fan that switches on whenever the fridge is cooling, you know about it most of the time. We have indoor air conditioners at home and I deliberately measured the difference in noise between the air conditioner in quiet mode and the fridge when cooling. The air conditioner had about 38.5 db and the refrigerator 35.5 db. If you know how loud the climate hums in silent mode, you have a rough idea of how loud this fridge is. The problem is that the vast majority of fridges sold today have the same noise level and cold air ventilation system, so I'm afraid you won't get much help by buying a different product. If you're the unfortunate owner of a living room connected to a kitchen, you're out of luck, as modern fridges are significantly noisier than those about 15 years old. It hums like an air conditioner in silent mode. However, it is not the compressor that is to blame, but the fan in the wall of the fridge that ensures an even supply of cool air.
