I would rate the thermometer positively overall, but be aware:
If you are buying a thermometer for a bigger child or an adult, do not buy it, just over the classic mercury (resp. nowadays various substitutes for mercury) thermometer simply does not, there will always be deviations of approx. 0.2 to 0.4 degrees. I would recommend the thermometer for young children.
The other thing is that those who write that the thermometer is not measuring correctly, have a really defective piece, or they can't read, as is already the custom. According to the instructions, measure from a distance of 3cm to 5cm and very! important! is to measure about 1cm above the eyebrow as written in the instructions. Actually if you point the thermometer to the middle of the forehead the temperature will be about 0.2 degrees higher, and you also need to go from the middle of the forehead to the temple. This ensures that the measured temperature is "only" 0.2 degrees different from the actual temperature.

I have had the thermometer for a short time, but after the first tests I am very satisfied. It is necessary to read the instructions and observe the procedure of measurement, acclimatization of the thermometer to the room temperature, observance of the distance from the forehead, movement from the center of the forehead to the temple. All this is required by the infrared non-contact method of measurement, determined by the laws of physics. And then the successive measurements are identical, differing by a maximum of 0.1 °C. I recommend the thermometer for purchase.

After switching to the house icon, it can measure temperatures of objects and liquid surfaces (water in the bath) from 0-100 °C which can be useful.
When a child has a fever, it measures a different value each time. (lens clean, measured the same place several times and made an average). The result is totally unsatisfactory. This is perhaps really a more reliable self-reflection when touching a child. The light is too bright from the display, and the measurement itself, it wakes the child at night. Useful just as a quick measurement to give an idea so I don't have to disturb the child more with a regular thermometer, but the readings really need to be taken with a grain of salt and rely on my own judgment of the child's condition.
