No intervention in the door frame is necessary.
Solid construction when pulled at the center, it's kind of iffy at the edges.
The folding was absolutely terrible. The screw holes were slightly misaligned and the overlapping elements did not interlock. Then it was also very impractical to hold the bolt and mount the nut at the same time.
