I bought the watch as one of the cheapest ways to get into the Garmin world. For the price I was disappointed by the processing of the watch. I have tried even more expensive versions and therefore Garmin in the quality of processing and software lags behind the competition. It seems to me that it's more about the persistence of the past years. Nevertheless, the watch does exactly what it is designed to do. They have accurate, if a little slower, GPS. They are suitable mainly for running, but they can also handle other sports. The only thing I personally miss is the "trail run" option, which is found in the higher models; and more accurate sleep monitoring (at least the beginning and end could be fixed somehow).
They look beautiful.
Alza sells a hardened case that fits almost perfectly and also a nylon bracelet.
They are light and do not show on the hand.
MIPs display looks great in the sun.
I support the Garmin couch.
Possibility to download additional functions via Connect IQ.
Terribly annoying "tips" how to use the watch. They should only appear for a short time after the clock is reset, but I get them twice a day.
The buttons rattle a bit and are inaccurate. One has to be careful not to squeeze them completely.
When navigating in the menu, the backlight flashes occasionally even though it is completely off in the settings.
Incredibly inaccurate for sleep monitoring. It's not just that they can't accurately record the individual phases (deep error completely), they can't even hit the beginning and end of the sleep. "Chinese" watches for a fraction of the price have known this for years (i.e. the beginning and the end. sleep phases are also inaccurate).
They don't have a "trail run".

I’m writing this review as someone who is currently on their third watch of this model (not because I like them so much, but because I’ve already had to return them twice): ) ). To begin with, I’m not an active sportsman and I tend to use them simply as a watch. On the positive side, although the watch is made of plastic and therefore doesn’t look particularly upmarket, this has its advantages, particularly in terms of price and weight – it’s reasonably priced and pleasantly light. The battery lasts so long that you don’t have to worry about charging it, unlike with ‘smarter’ watches (Apple Watch, etc.). I also find the controls quite user-friendly; even though they’re operated solely by buttons, I’m already used to them from my Casio watches. If it weren’t for the high failure rate, I’d actually recommend them to everyone, because they have a transflective display (which, in my opinion, is 100 times better to use than OLED) and excellent battery life at a reasonable price, with some great features. The downside, however, is that for the first few hours, the system kept thinking it had a new update even though there wasn’t one; this was resolved by making a complaint. I made a complaint about the second watch because, after about a year’s use – during which I’d had no problems with the battery life – it suddenly stopped working. I’ve received my third watch, and I’ve noticed that even though I don’t want the backlight to turn on when I press any button other than ‘Light’, the light turns on anyway when I swipe across the heart rate widget. According to the internet, this is a problem that’s been around for two years, for which no update has yet been released, despite the fact that Garmin is aware of it, and their only solution has simply been to send people a new unit (watch no. 4?: ) ).

From my perspective, as someone who owned a Galaxy Watch 2, this is a step backwards. The watch has a smaller small and inferior display, enough pixels can be seen. The biggest shame of the display though is its brightness, which when not under light is nothing special. Once you're under the sun, it's beautiful to see. The watch is strictly for sports, and I can't imagine using it in the same way as the Galaxy 2 because the Garmin 55 doesn't even have a touchscreen. Personally, I think they are not bad for someone starting out in the sport. I was buying them because I was only using the Galaxy 2 for sports functions anyway, and didn't need anything more.
