Appearances can be deceiving
What appears to be a classic, sleek everyday watch is actually this Garmin Smart Watch, a high-tech sports watch with advanced measurements and Bluetooth phone sync. The Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire is equipped with sensitive GPS/GLONASS satellite reception with an advanced EXO steel antenna. The battery life is impressive. It can last, for example, up to 6 weeks on a single battery charge while in the smartwatch mode.
Daily activity monitor
The Fenix 3 watch watches your every move all-day. It will determine your target number of steps per day, track your distance traveled and display the calories burned (both passive and active). The Garmin Connect web interface gives you the ability to evaluate and compare your performance in detail.
Appearance and construction
The Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire features a large 1.2" color display with a resolution of 218x218 pixels. Unlike other smart watches on the market, the display is not hard to read in the sunlight. This version is 20g lighter and noticeably thinner than the previous Fenix 2.
Training features
The Fenix 3 Sapphire Watch is one of the best-equipped training watches available and offers a wide range of sophisticated features for athletes. While there are too many to list here, different heart rate alarm settings, stride measurements, navigation, rowing stroke metrics, and golf yardage are a few notable features. It is also possible to use pre-prepared training plans for running or cycling.
Swimming and skiing
The Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire is able to measure swimming training with built-in sensors. While swimming, this watch measures mileage, swimming efficiency (SWOLF), heart rate and stroke type. For fans of winter sports, the Fenix 3 Sapphire features cross-country and downhill skiing tracking too. Thanks to the built-in barometer, the watch recognizes when you are skiing and when you are on the lift.
Wireless connectivity
The Fenix 3 Sapphire features the ability to connect to Android and iOS smart phones via Bluetooth and display phone notifications. With built-in Wi-Fi, watches are able to send training data or update software without having to switch on a computer or mobile phone. Additionally, ANT+ wireless connectivity allows you to pair the watch with fitness accessories.
