sufficient size - i.e. Inside you can store everything you need to service your bike in the field = gluing kit, mounting "levers", universal tool with "Allen keys" + small universal multifunctional "tool" (such small closing "pliers"). Even the electrician's insulating tape fits in there and there's still a little room.
suitable shape = narrows towards the "saddlebag", does not get in the way when cycling. I would never have thought that such a bag could be a nuisance (I was convinced otherwise)
holds perfectly in place (I also had one that fitted under the seat with Velcro - it didn't hold nearly as well)
easy to assemble
nice reflective "Stripe"
supposedly waterproof
after a quality "definition of will" in the bag does not even rattle anything.
it even has a "button" for the light - if the seat happens to be set very low
