So far I have not been able to find a satisfactory affordable replacement for the original GARMIN cable, which works 100%, is durable, but unfortunately slightly overpriced for my taste.
This particular ETERNICO cable has worked for about half a year - the connector is tighter, which is fine, so there is no risk of falling out, unfortunately the plastic broke down over time, so no hassle complaint. I don't recommend it for watches with metal body (Fenix 5), it may last longer in flats.
For Fenix 5 I do not recommend FIXED product, where the problem is unfortunately the opposite - the connector is free.
The connectors oxidize on both the cable and the Garmin watch, but that's a design flaw with Garmin.
The pins of the charging connector, which are on springs, bite over time and need to be moved, e.g. with a needle.
