This cooler is really compatible with AM3+ socket. Don't trust a review here with photos that states it is not. The photographs are correct, but the user has misunderstood the method of assembly, and it is true that there is little information about it. Remove the original top flanges one at a time. When mounting on an AM3+ socket, you use only the included black posts and these (one at a time! ) screwed to the original flange underneath the motherboard. You don't even have to take it out of the closet. And the mounting plate with the threads from the delivery and the fixing screws fits on the posts. It looks weird, but it's well thought out and holds up well.
