the difference in sound is gigantic. compared to the microphone in a laptop that boxes with fan noise, this is suddenly a completely different level. Someone has told me a few times that I can' t hear or misunderstand me - and I hear it from some colleagues that they just have a lousy sound - since I have this mirofon, on the contrary, someone sometimes praised me that it' s a sound of both quality and quality. recordings.
the microphone is really robust, with a heavy solid iron stand, it' s not a cheap plastic.
I haven' t figured out how to sync the mute button with the mute on zoom or google hangouts. you just press mute and you really can' t hear you, but the zoom still shows that you have an active microphone - it would like to coordinate.
I don' t understand what the “volume knob“ does on that microphone - I can rotate where I want and it has no effect. I really have no idea what it should actually do.
USB-C cable is missing (Macbook).
I think there could be some software for basic sound editing, noise filtering, keyboard tapping, laptop fans, etc. Some of it already has Zoom, etc., but I think that the microphone looks serious enough that it deserves its own solution.
accessories are quite expensive
the ideal thing is to have the microphone with you and the laptop, about 20 cm from your mouth. so it slightly obscures the view of the keyboard. so it would be ideal to have it on some telescopic arm, but that is another investment. but even without all that, it' s a mega difference.
