I have tried the machine on fine straight hair and curly hair. The machine cuts only without the attachment. With the attachment it doesn't cut at all, only when you hold the stretched hair in your hand and run it through the machine. Which is incredibly tedious and very difficult for a dog that moves. If I bought a hair clipper, I might do better. Waste of money.
