When the UPS beeps during an outage, you can't turn it off unless you physically unplug it or software tune it, so you're out of luck. I wasn't impressed with the staying power or the out of the box scent. It's supposed to disappear in 14 days, I'm just not impressed. Finally if anyone reads this I took the more expensive Cyberpower on recommendation, no odor, can mute the veeper, endurance completely different, works with NAS synlogy too and has a display!: -)
