I find them better than 9-42 on a Stratocaster, because the wound strings don' t just " roll" around the fingerboard. Roundcore has a slightly warmer sound than hexcore, but they don' t have the Strat' s character. On the contrary, I think it plays nicely balanced and the sound is a bit more vintage. Thanks to the roundcore and a little less pull, the wound strings don' t feel like tens, they just don' t seem pulled out like nines. Compared to Pure Blues, they really have a bit more pull (pure nickel vs nickel plated) and a slightly sharper sound. After the nines, the Strat required no adjustment.
Combined with a low grasp of fantasy
