I was looking for an umbrella that opens and closes with a handle. My friend is petite and a regular umbrella of this size cannot open/close. It just won't reach high enough to latch or to disengage the latch. I want to place the umbrella by the railing of the eighth-floor balcony, and the idea of my girlfriend having to stand on something to arm the umbrella seems dangerous. A wheelchair user would probably have the same problem. This feature was therefore key for me and I was happy to be able to specify a filter based on it. The surprise was when the umbrella landed at home and did not meet the specified parameters.
a shape that can be ideal under certain conditions (balcony, )
simple and therefore probably durable construction
I missed the advertised handle control
