I'm a beginner (at electricity) so I can't judge too much yet. I bought it based on the large number of positive reviews on YT. Until now I have played mainly on a very compact electroacoustic ukulele Risa Stick. But since I mainly play rock and effects on it, I want to move towards a full-fledged guitar with this. My general experience is that small portable instruments have one major advantage - you can practice more on them because you can take them anywhere (especially since they are practically silent with headphones). That's why I highly recommend it especially for beginners. Attention: From the feedback on FB, the plastic sensor switch will break over time. I have the same impression, but due to the price of the instrument and the quality of the other parts I take this product as a guitar for possible modding. Repairing or replacing the switch should not be a big problem.
