The author is a manipulative ideologue comparable to similar ideologues throughout history. But it falls far short of their literary level.
Really good continuation of Foglar's diction and atmosphere of his works. It is a mere copying, but on the other hand it gives the impression of real authorial continuity.
The initial atmosphere of mystery in the book is comparable not only to other works by Foglar but also to contemporary representatives of this literature (Prasina, etc. )
It soon becomes clear that the author is merely exploiting Foglar's style and literary method to promote his own "educational" goals.
It is an ideological massage that arouses environmental distress in readers and shapes their fear and disgust (in this case towards capitalist coal barons).
The ending itself is really poor even from a literary point of view, comparable to the cheapest thriller endings of Nordic crime films. It's a good thing Foglar didn't live to see it.
