Very nice design, I like the possibility of removing the strainer, it is stainless steel but the holder is plastic. Disappointing is the plastic inner part of the lid and especially the design fail at the base of the kettle, the socket plug. It's perpendicular and therefore sticks out into space. All the other kettles we've ever had have had it designed at right angles to the floor.

Before I bought this kettle, I had a cheaper Tefal kettle with a temperature control, and in terms of performance, it was (in my opinion) much better than this one from De’Longhi. Personally, I find it rather annoying how long it takes to heat the water to lower temperatures. Another thing I don’t like is that I haven’t managed to find a way to display the current water temperature. If I want to check what temperature the water in the kettle is and whether I need to heat it up (or wait for it to cool down), I can’t find out until I switch the heating on. One final point is that once you’ve selected the water temperature and the heating process has started, you can’t change the temperature.
