A great sound system that replaced my old ZxR, which still has great sound, but I ended up replacing it when comparing it to this one. The Ae-9 has a wider and more "open" sound, where you can hear each individual note beautifully clear and separated from the others compared to the ZxR, which has a more analogue sound. it still plays beautifully clear, but the sound is more "in the face" and the separation of the instruments is a bit worse and I wanted a change, so the Ae-9 won: )
Of course, you also need to have good quality headphones and speakers!
Tighter sound compared to ZxR
Great spatial simulation in headphones for games and movies
I had a Soundblaster Z before that, which sounded nice and the sound was certainly better than from the motherboard. But this AE-9 is in a different class. The sound is incredible!

In my opinion, the Creative Sound Blaster AE-9 is an excellent sound card designed for demanding users and professional musicians. This card is equipped with advanced technologies that allow you to create good audio performance.
The Sound Blaster AE-9 uses a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that enables efficient processing of audio signals. As a result, the AE-9 can easily play audio files of the highest quality and support the latest audio formats, which is important.
The sound card also has an integrated high-quality DAC with up to 129 dB resolution. This means that the card can process audio signals with very high resolution to create truly vivid and authentic sounds.
The Sound Blaster AE-9 also offers a wide range of inputs and outputs for connecting a variety of devices. For example, it features analog inputs and outputs, digital optical inputs and outputs, and a high-sensitivity microphone input.
Overall, the Creative Sound Blaster AE-9 isn't a bad sound card for demanding users who want to create a truly authentic and vivid audio experience. If you are a musician or sound engineering professional, this card is definitely the right choice for you.
My card was glitching, the sound would occasionally crackle and the left speaker/earpiece would go mute out of the blue. I couldn't solve the crackling, there were several "solutions" on the internet, updating BIOS, drivers, none of it helped, it still crackles sometimes. I can't listen to it.
The sound is cracking
The instructions don't say what to connect to what
I didn't notice any significant improvement in sound quality
Incomparable difference vs. sound from the motherboard
Many cables for various electronics
