Tried and tested in the past. They work on icy asphalt (uphill exit from the garage) as well as in waterlogged and muddy meadows.
Over time the tines will wear down when used on icy asphalt, but for mud etc. are still working flawlessly.

It'll work for a while, good idea.
I didn't expect the shoelace to come off so soon. I find the manufacturer's admonition that we should prevent wheelspin to be highly alibistic, as these aids are usually fitted when the wheels are spinning. But it seems I'll have a solution, yet to implement and test.
