Basically mandatory for all washing machines and dishwashers that were delivered with just a basic hose. I needed that length and got it at a nice price. The plastic nut on the side of the horn, which are usually metal, is also a bit stupid. But the plastic thread is strong enough that the few connections over the life of the hose will survive unscathed.
