absolutely great for five bucks. definitely better to buy this longer variant than the more expensive shorter one, there is practically only one extra handle cylinder: )
weight. the whole thing is really hard, given really honest pieces. but there is no need to pull the whole thing for a fool. so you only take the base and the handle and leave the 3 extension rods at home. Then it' s fine to put in your backpack
the packaging could be better so that there are compartments for extension rods as well. this way, only the foundation is laid and the rest is to be thrown somewhere, or thrown by the shovel, where it will naturally get scratched. so a second bag is a must
slightly worse quality control - one piece had a damaged seal, the other had some broken rivets
it lacks the inclination lock at ~45° so that it can be used more comfortably as a shovel

Great as an emergency tool for the car/caravan. I doubt very much that anyone would take it even for a short hike. For any job, you'll still prefer another tool - a lighter one - if you have it to hand. You only use this because it's "sufficient", not because it's good.
