I chose this product because it was poorly rated and the description didn't say if it was gel. Of course it is gel with a textile coating.
It did its job, after a whole day of playing on the pc my wrist doesn't hurt at all.
If you don't treat it badly, the mat won't treat you badly either.
I recommend keeping the bottom sheet on the mat at all times because when you take it off, it's a mess trap and that will come back to you later. I kept it there and it doesn't bother me at all, it doesn't shift, it's fine.
