We have used the BRITA filter kettle for about three years to great satisfaction. In the last batch of BRITA Pack 4 MAXTRAplus PO, we noticed black deposits at the bottom of the filter kettle. I didn't want to believe it, so we did a test with filtered water from a BRITA filter kettle and BRITA Pack 4 MAXTRAplus PO filters. Into a white porcelain cup, we poured water from a BRITA filter kettle with BRITA MAXTRAplus PO filter. After a short time, black sediments settled at the bottom of the cup. I don't know if this is harmful, but until the manufacturer comments on this, I will not use the product.
