Compared to the previous model, it has a lid that does not need to be removed when filling. That's a total bomb. With my previous kettle, I didn't even put in the lid because it was a pain to take it off and put it back on x times a day. On the other hand, the lid is nice because there is no need to wait for all the water to run out and the insert part with the filter fits nicely in place. The new model tackles this at one star and when you do the math that there are three filters with the kettle (don't be alarmed when unpacking - one is outside the kettle but two are still hidden right inside the kettle), this kettle is worth a few bucks.
