High quality hard shell case.
For a lower price, you can get headphones with much better sound. But that's debatable, the Bose QC35 doesn't even try. On the contrary, Noise Cancelling is their main asset.
There are a few things to criticize about Noise Cancelling:
It does not work reliably outdoors in the wind - it produces unpleasant noise.
NC cannot be adjusted. You can't even turn off voice filtering, like you can with the Sony MDR-1000X.

In an airplane or any environment with continuous noise at lower frequencies, the noise cancellation works great, and for work in a shared office it is acceptable.
The durability and mechanical workmanship are excellent.
In a not too noisy environment they are excellent as a conference headset (for BT link to phone, iPad).
The sound isn't exactly amazing - there are plenty of better options in a quiet environment where ANC isn't needed.
No noise cancellation cannot be turned off - so there is no point in walking outside in the wind with the headphones.
The sound has reserves.
