We bought this grinder as a gift for grinding strong coffee for a traditional Czech Turkish coffee pot, and it’s been a big hit with the family. The difference in taste and aroma compared to shop-bought ground coffee is huge.
For the money, it’s a reliable workhorse that’s perfect for making Turkish coffee. If you don’t mind a bit of a faff when it comes to cleaning, you’ll be absolutely delighted.
Great value for money – excellent value for money.
Performance – it grinds the coffee into a very fine powder, causing the grounds to sink to the bottom of the cup in an instant.
Safety – will not start until the lid is securely locked in place.
Durability – the stainless steel bowl can easily withstand coarse grains.
Small, compact, always to hand.
Cleaning and handling – the interior of the grinder cannot be removed. Due to static electricity, fine dust sticks to the walls and is difficult to remove from the deep bowl (it has to be ‘scraped out’). I recommend buying a small silicone powder brush or a cosmetic brush for blending.
Minor flaws – as this is a blade grinder, you need to grind in short bursts to prevent the coffee from overheating. Even so, a few coarser grains sometimes remain, which then float to the surface. All you need to do is give the grinder a little shake whilst it’s grinding.
