Our original BOSCH fridge has finally given up the ghost, so after ten years I decided to get a new one. I thought that after ten years, technology would have moved on and improved. The fridge has no handles, only integrated recessed grips, and they are actually on both sides of the door. As a result, it is very difficult to open. You can't do it with your right hand, so you have to use your left, but then you block your own access to the fridge, meaning you have to swap hands on the door wing and end up smudging the surface, leaving fingerprints. You have to experience it for yourself. The fridge doesn't have adjustable door-stop hinges, so the door bangs into other items. The vegetable drawer catches when you pull it out (the previous one had wheels on the drawer). There are no accessories included in the fridge, such as an ice cube tray, an egg holder, or one of those plastic comb grippers to stop jars from rattling in the door. The wire bottle rack is also a disappointment compared to a folding shelf. It takes up a lot of space and is less practical than a folding shelf. The LED lighting with a label announcing that it is LED lighting made me laugh. The top part of the fridge is not even in the same colour as the appliance. The chiller box cannot be fully pulled out without lifting it up. The door balconies are not height-adjustable like they used to be. The fridge also uses polystyrene as packaging filler instead of eco-friendly paper packaging and honeycombs. The entire fridge is a prime example of poor design. This fridge is my punishment for making a bad choice of appliance. If it weren't so bulky, I would gladly return it and get a more well-thought-out appliance. Steer clear of Bosch fridges if you don't want to be disappointed several times a day. The only thing I can praise is that the internal evaporator has disappeared from the freezer, which used to make maintenance difficult when defrosting.
