the device is functional.
the added cable was unusable, probably a manufacturing defect, with another cable the device works without error.

Total quality
It is certainly perfect for occasional replacement of a 2,5" HDD with another one.
But overall I recommend it. It's a nice piece, especially for DIYers who sometimes like to swap the HDD for another one.
And the all-metal design also ensures good cooling.
But the box doesn't seem to be closed very securely.
The closing is done with a sliding safety, but the whole is held in only by the pressure of the rods that push the cam away, so that this also resists the sliding safety - the opening "knob".
But that may not be entirely reliable. First of all, the box wants to open itself a bit, the bars are too strong.
Or, if one were to weaken them (I clamped them a bit with my knuckles), it can happen that it won't hold due to the small pressure of the buckles.
