I haven't found an alternative, so five stars for the fact that I can have a new battery at all for an old laptop, otherwise I could only use it on the desk in the network.
Inspiron 17 - system bios reports incompatibility on every boot and you have to confirm with F1 that it can continue
sometimes it refuses to start with the battery, or after disconnecting the power the laptop dies, but after disconnecting the power and removing the battery and reinserting it, it runs again,
battery insertion is a bit "scratchy", it doesn't go in as gracefully as the original
