Bought as God knows how many headphones for the family mainly for the spoken word, especially for teaching English, and also a bit out of curiosity, because Audio-Technic(u) I once had the opportunity to test only briefly and it was a higher model, which was then in my shortlist. My reference headphones are the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. The M20s don't sound bad, but they're definitely not for more demanding listening, they're quite entertaining for casual listening and definitely don't offend. Dialogues are nicely legible, for better legibility the bass needs to be loaded while finding the volume just right, headphones can take a heavy load but at high excitation they rather just make noise. They definitely don't play from the bottom, 15Hz or so, more like somewhere around 40Hz, but that's probably why they're not overblown. The heights are as follows. ordinary not quite sharp, but most cheaper headphones have such. On the other hand, it can also be an advantage when there is a lower quality recording, the imperfections get lost, but in such a way that it doesn't sound like a disaster.
I'm a bit worried about the cable leading from the bridge to the shell, it runs around the pressure plate pretty tight, we'll see if it gets through in time.
The headphones isolate well and sit well on my head, but after about 1 hour I feel them more than I am comfortable, I will see if they loosen up.
