If only there was an mATX version in the ROG Strix B850 or X870 edition in BLACK… but unfortunately, there isn't. The TUF editions are well-equipped boards with a few limitations, which is compensated for by the better price. From a real-world performance perspective, there's no fundamental difference from the B850; it's a good choice in the mATX category, and it's a board that can handle Zen6 and even Zen7.
Strong power cascade 14+2+1 (x80A), reserve for ZEN6+
Very well-sized VRM heatsinks, temperature up to 45°C (AMD 8-core 150W)
GPU slot in the first position and a super simple/reliable release mechanism
The NVMe cooler handles 2x 1TB NVMe x4 drives, keeping them under 46°C during normal operation below a high-performance 3.2-slot GPU.
Plenty of rear I/O ports, both HDMI and DisplayPort, only missing an optical output for the sound card (a minor issue).
WiFi 7 MediaTek MT7925 - stable, fast and excellent signal sensitivity. 2.5G LAN is problem-free (Realtek)
The UEFI BIOS is clear, version 1681 is stable, an identical copy of the ROG Strix B850-G (mATX) but in different colours
CLR CMOS and Flash BIOS buttons on the rear I/O
4x SATA port + 3x NVMe slots
very good price/feature ratio
If you use a 3+ slot GPU, forget about the second PCIe x4 slot = unusable
The PCH cooler (B850 chipset) is relatively small, temperatures can reach around 65–70°C.
One-sided memory lock. Installation is OK, but removal is an unnecessary complication.
NVMe heatsink only over 2x NVMe and needs to be screwed in
it doesn't have a connector for the temperature sensor (T_sensor) and the BIOS doesn't show the temperature of the VRM cascade
