The Asus RT-AX59U has replaced our older (although still serving TP Link Archer 6 router), due to: - increased safety
- updatability (especially for the future, TPlinks suffers quite a bit from this, they release one update and then let it "die". )
- price-wise, it's the sweet spot - it has Ai Protection Pro (cheaper Asus models only have Ai Protection Classic) - and you're not overpaying unnecessarily like with, say, Asus RT-AX86U PRO All in all: 100% recommended

Easy network commissioning.
Clear application, easy to set up controls, etc.
Compared to the original ordinary. TPlink WD9660 router, the signal range was extended and strengthened in places about 15m + wall, where even 2.4 GHz was already dropping out. 5 GHz is also great here.
Coverage of the whole floor of about 80m2, with the router almost in the middle, impeccable.
The router is upstairs, the original Tenda extender is left on the ground floor because of the TV. The communication between it and the router is now without any failures and the TV is not dropping out (from the Exteder leads to the TV LAN)
It looks beautiful
Maybe more LAN inputs.

Necessity to first connect the cable to AiMesh and update the firmware, with the supplied firmware had a problem connecting via wifi and reported a weak connection even about 30cm from the main router.
Works in AiMesh
Wall mounting
flat and small
subtle non-distracting LED
Asus cashback warning: There are hidden pods so he' s not sure.

I was looking for a router that would serve an increasing number of devices in the apartment. With the existing one, I had very unstable signal in other rooms and the 5GHz devices were constantly disconnecting. In addition, for example, copying a file from computer to computer in the next room (1 wall) was originally at a speed of about 0.5 - 1MBps. This router solved my problem. The signal holds steady and maximum theoretical speeds are 800 - 1200Mbps behind the wall. The speed of copying from computer to computer has risen to 10 - 30 MBps, which is already a usable value. I tried plugging the drive into the USB3 port (2.5" 4GB 5200rpm), as I was intrigued by the options in the setup and was pleasantly surprised. It is a simple but functional replacement for a network drive (samba, multimedia center, ftp), which replaces a simple single disk NAS. Writing via wifi from the next room is around 15 - 20 MBps, reading 30 - 35 MBps. Writing and reading "over the wire" is still about twice as fast. There's no problem copying a larger file. The advantage is that you can disconnect the drive and initially load big data quickly directly via usb3, without a network. However, my 2TB external SSD failed to connect, so I couldn't measure the speeds without the limitations of a solid state drive. PS: I was a little disappointed initially, but after switching to wifi 6 (for both 2.4 and 5 GHz) the speeds and signal strength improved. Apparently, the router is optimized primarily for wifi 6 and does not perform as well on wifi 5.
Simple wiring and commissioning
stronger signal on wifi 6 (2.4 and 5 GHz), especially 5 GHz is more stable throughout the apartment than with the old router with wifi 5
clear mobile app
extensive setting options in the web application
all features are free without subscription (VPN, parental control,. )
Surprisingly usable USB drive connectivity
decent design, small dimensions
good price/performance ratio
5 antennas
at the other end of the apartment I expected a stronger signal, but it does not affect the stability and speed (unlike the old AP) (wifi 6).
