I chose this laptop mainly because of the giant 18" display and I have to say that it was a hit. If you are moving from a smaller dimension, it will be a shock - in the best sense of the word. The space and fluidity of the image is addictive, whether you're playing or just watching a movie. If you're looking for a desktop replacement that you can pack up and go when needed, this is the perfect choice. The price is higher, but I think it's worth it for the experience and the quality of workmanship. I definitely recommend it!
Design and keyboard: It feels like a premium piece. The keyboard has a nice grip and the backlighting looks great in the evening.
Cooling: For the hardware inside, I was surprised at how well the laptop holds temperatures. Sure, the fans know about themselves, but it's no vacuum cleaner.
Aspect ratio: 16:10 is much better for work and play than classic, you simply have more headroom.
Brutal performance: So far, I haven't come across anything that would slow this machine down. Everything runs on ultra detail absolutely smoothly.
It's a heck of a piece of hardware. It's not quite up to everyday carrying in a light backpack, the weight is noticeable (even with the adapter). But that's what you expect with an 18" gaming cannon.
