The second apacer has already died. 1. 512GB died completely exactly one month after warranty. 2. had a clinical death when it totally destroyed the win10 partition, on the other PC I managed to recover 90% of the data after 3 days. APACER never again!

I wasn't looking for a fancy drive with super specs. My criteria were basically two main ones - the stated durability and the price. That combined with sufficient read and write speeds made this drive my winner.
the product with the best price/performance ratio
higher declared service life compared to others

The disk is kaput after 5 months, apparently the controller is gone, BIOS doesn't see it at all. A lot of people here have had similar experiences. Pay extra and avoid Apacer. The Kingstns and Samsungs are all holding me up so far.
the speed with which Alza settled the complaint
Apacer is a lousy manufacturer in my opinion
He went to silicon hell after 5 months

Unfortunately I ordered because I thought my girlfriend's ssd had gone, so we'll replace it. But it was just a Windows update that needed to be reverted. And I already put it in.
So, people, be sure to diagnose the cause carefully and don't be like me. But whatever, at least we have more room.
