Legitimately I see no reason to buy a 5600X

it doesn't eat too much (unlike Intel CPU) and the performance is enough for everything I need
it doesn't overheat, but it seems to me that the Ryzen 5 3600 heats a bit less

I'm satisfied. It might be worth considering Ryzen 7 to extend the life of the build. On the other hand, I didn't miss the processor performance even with the Ryzen 3 1200. I proceeded to buy it more because of the price drop and the arrival of AM5 thanks to which AM4 processors will start to gradually disappear and upgrate kits will then be more expensive by the motherboard.

for my needs, even with the basic fan it did not go over 82°C, usually it stays within 60°C, outside of the load in WIN11 within 50°C
More like my stupidity. I have an MSI B450M GAMING PLUS motherboard that supports this CPU, but it needs a bios update first. If you replace the CPU before the update, the bios won't even boot and you'll have to first return the old CPU like I did, do a bios update and then put the new CPU back in.

I'm happy I switched from the 2600x and the performance goes noticeable really enough.
With a 6600XT graphics card, that's good enough for me.
The last processor then switching to DDR 5.
Now it will be quiet for two years at least.
I sold the original cooler with the 2600x.
I don't understand or know anyone who has used it honestly.

In games performance is practically like 5600X but cheaper (you can OC and then the performance will be even higher than 5600X - it should overclock relatively well but I haven't tried it yet)
price even with box cooler (probably loud and not very powerful for OC, but some may not mind, nice plus - I personally did not use it, but the Noctua cooler certainly does not have)
heat sink with pre-applied thermal paste (no need to buy paste)
super TDP - only 65W (but realistically it can take 75W) - but the difference e.g. compared to the old FX-8320 which even without OC "eats" 125W
in Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX 2060 Super (1080p) the core load is about 40-70%, GPU 100%, so you can easily buy much more powerful graphics for this CPU (for example RTX 3080 I think is ideal)

need to update Bios to b450 tomahawk max (but that's more the board's fault) - but someone with an older board may be afraid of this, so watch out for compatibility (not all AM4 boards can handle it "on the fly")
the need for "fast" RAM (min. 3200Mhz maybe cl16, ideally cl-14), otherwise the CPU performance will be quite limited - but this is a feature of all Ryzen
