a simple speaker that is quite loud. Personally, I've only tried it when connected to a pc. The main problem I have is that when the speaker starts up, it plays a rather loud jingle (even when the speaker is turned off) and secondly the default pc volume is set to about 50% even though I turned it down to less during the previous attempt. So when the speaker starts up, the volume value is not kept at the value it was when it was turned off. I also have a problem with the rather stiff buttons and the fact that (at least on a PC) the volume has to be pressed all the time to turn up or down (can't be held down) I would have preferred buttons on the perimeter of the speaker rather than on the back.
