The holder has a pretty good magnet, just the phone tends to rotate on the magnet - so you need to center the phone well.
The magnet can be easily replaced if necessary. The mounting joint is the same as most other mounts.
As far as magnets are concerned - Swissten holds the best, AlzaPower less, Fixed ICON Vent even less, and Fixed Maggy XL even less.

The clip has a hook, but it's only rubber and it tends to slip out. But if it rests well on its feet, then it's OK. But this is not always possible. In my case, it didn't work out dimensionally and the legs either didn't support at all or only one. It only worked for me in 1 option where the phone was covered in the part with the steering wheel, so unusable for that reason.
