Even though the product description mentions Thunderbolt 3 support, the adapter communicates via USB, not Thunderbolt (unfortunately this causes it to have higher overhead and on HW with a weaker CPU it can be detected when the ethernet is busy). Unfortunately, the description of the adapter is misleading in several places.
