I bought it on sale as a laptop for both work and play and it fulfills both purposes perfectly. I was surprised by the way the ventilation is designed - the exhaust takes up half the back and blows up through the display and away, not underneath. Even under longer weights I don't feel that my hands "boil". Of course, the fans at full blast are quite loud, so you can't do without headphones when playing.
