A laptop that is not the best, but is very good in most important areas. The design looks solid and quite good, although I don't like the look of it as much as HP or Lenovo, but it's ok. A big thumbs up to Acer for the cross head screws used on the bottom cover and M2 slot, finally something decent and one is not afraid to pull the screw off. It is not a problem to get inside and I immediately added a second 8GB DDR4 memory module to the dual chanel. It is also possible to add 1 free M2 slot and therefore I have fitted a free WD Blue SN570 1TB. So the basic expandability is decent. There are plenty of ports to appreciate, including the fact that USB-C can be used for charging and data transfer. There is also an RJ-45 and during installation you just need to connect the cable for a while before the OS installs and updates the Wifi driver. Wifi is also very decent, downloading runs great. The laptop does not have Windows OS installed, you need to take this into account and use your license (for me personally it was not a problem). The installation of Windows 11 itself was seamless, the only thing missing was the wifi driver and that can be replaced by plugging in a network cable. After downloading and updating all the drivers for the OS, everything ran perfectly! For setup, you can download Acer Care Center, which feels inferior to Lenovo's Vantage, but allows e.g. setting the battery charge limit to 80%. For more frequent use of the NTB connected to the network, this is useful. Acer's specialty is the cooling grille under the display, so warm air blows up to the display. How it works in the long run remains to be seen, I haven't owned any laptop from Acer yet. The 8-core Ryzen 5700U still has plenty of performance in multicore applications, it is weaker in single-core, of course. anyway, it is still a strong competitor to e.g. i5-1235U, Ryzen 5625U or Ryzen 7530U. The processor has enough power for normal work, playing movies, browsing the web and older games. Everything is running smoothly, especially after expanding it by another module to 16GB RAM. In conclusion, I can praise Acer and recommend the laptop for a decent price with plenty of performance and good expansion options for both RAM and SSD. 100% and I recommend it!
decent multi-core performance of Ryzen 5700U
1TB SSD in the base and another free slot to add a second M2 SSD
RAM 8GB+additional free slot
the design and the IPS display used are good
HDMI 2.1 and the ability to charge with a 65W charger via USB-C
enough ports: 3xUSB-A, USB-C, HDMI, LAN port RJ-45
Acer Care Center - can set battery charge to 80%
screws with a proper cross head, thumbs up to Acer for that
enough power for normal work, movie playback, web and older games
weaker single-core performance of 5700U (older architecture)
without Windows (installation, but seamless)
cooling is noisier and warm air is directed towards the display
