I’ve had the telly at home for a month and it’s certainly been worth it. The TV had blacklight bleeding, but it was so pronounced that it could even be seen against a white background in daylight. After that, every 4K video would freeze up so badly that the TV wouldn’t respond for hours; I had to switch it off at the mains, and, well, in the end, when I opened YouTube, Oneplay and Netflix, the videos were displayed in RGB colours. Hisense accepted my complaint simply on the basis of an email. Alza wanted to wash its hands of the whole thing, making excuses such as: I don’t have a collection service for the TV; you can’t make a complaint about the TV here; and a whole host of other excuses. In the end, an authorised service centre had to come and collect it, which I had to arrange separately. I received a report stating that it is an irreparable fault. When I went to sort it out with Alza using the complaint form, I was told that I would have to wait a month for the money. The first excuse was that they didn’t have any cash, the second was that they didn’t have the funds to cover it, and the next was that they had to verify the complaint, but I couldn’t get through to anyone. In the end, the man seemed to realise that, given I’d had the TV at home for a month and it hadn’t been working for a month, and I’d have to wait another month for the money to buy a new one, I certainly wasn’t going to wait – and, lo and behold, he had the authority, he had the cash, he was able to verify everything, and it was all sorted out in about five minutes after 15 minutes of shouting and sticking to my guns. So, to sum up, this model really is faulty. I wouldn’t buy it even if it cost a third of the price, and certainly not from Alza, as they make excuses for absolutely everything.
