We had a Samsung, and given that it stopped supporting AVI (older stuff like cartoons for kids and the like that aren't on the platforms), we had to go through an STB with Google TV. So with the new TV we went straight for this system, where I can download the necessary app and not have an expensive TV just as a monitor.
So a mini-LED really makes a difference, it would probably apply to any other TV. What I like is the toggling of basic settings for picture/sound etc. directly in the bar below the image with online skipping (i.e. without going into the menu, reconfiguring, coming back and so on). We'll play around with it more, but for the average user I think it's luxurious in both picture and sound. Let's see how long it lasts.
