I’ve switched from a 24-inch Samsung Odyssey G40B (240 Hz, Full HD) and the difference is much greater than I expected. Not only because of the switch to 1440p, but mainly because of the OLED panel. Black really is black, the contrast is excellent and the colours look natural. In games, particularly FH6, the picture is truly stunning – the night scenes, the reflections of light and the overall depth of the image are in a completely different league to those on a standard IPS monitor.
I also appreciate the high-quality build, the matt anti-glare finish and the automatic maintenance of the OLED panel (Pixel Refresh). Once DSC is enabled, 2560 × 1440 at 240 Hz works without any problems.
If anyone’s thinking about switching from IPS to OLED, I’d definitely recommend it.
I was switching from a TN panel (Alienware 2518H), which also had a 240 Hz refresh rate, but the smoothness and picture quality of the OLED panel are in a league of their own! I can’t recommend this OLED monitor highly enough.
I am very satisfied with the monitor. I’ve switched from a 27" curved VA panel with the same resolution, and the difference in picture quality is huge. Of course, you do need to take a bit of care with OLED screens, but the picture quality makes it worth it. Another advantage for me is the very sturdy stand with a cable grommet. By default, the refresh rate can only be set to 165 Hz. If you want to achieve 240Hz, you’ll need to set the Display Stream Compression (DSC) function to ‘Enabled’ in your monitor’s settings.
