50 a viac rokov stare motocykle ani nemaju elektricky starter ale iba startovaciu paku /"nakopavacku"/ alebo sa daju roztlacit. Vsetky novsie motocykle maju 12V elektroinstalaciu a ani tie nemaju este vzdy elektricky starter. Ten je samozrejmostou len asi poslednych 25 rokov. Niektore specialne motocykle /motokrosove ci trialove/ koli uspore hmotnosti nemaju el. starter doteraz vobec. Elektroinstalacia je vsak samozrejme 12 Voltova.

kromě starých motorek (ty mají většinou nakopovák na startování), všechny nové mají 12V elektroinstalaci.
