Obaly na kola jsou obvykle rozděleny do tří velikostí podle nejdelší strany:
Malé obaly na kola: Obvykle mají 23-24 palců na nejdelší straně.
Střední obaly na kola: Ty jsou větší, s délkou 25-27 palců.
Velké obaly na kola: Jsou největší a mají délku 28-32 palců
