První pin je pro přenos zvukového signálu z počítače do sluchátek. Druhý pin je pro přenos zvukového signálu z mikrofonu sluchátek do počítače. Třetí pin slouží k uzemnění a je propojen se zemí USB konektoru. Čtvrtý pin slouží jako napájení sluchátek a je propojen s napájecím vodičem USB konektoru.
