Výrobky je možné používat od 6 měsíců. Nicméně do 1 roku by děti vůbec neměly být vystavovány dlouhodobému a přímému působení slunečního záření a pobývat ve stínu. I tam ovšem sluneční záření působí, takže proto je na místě používat ochranné krémy s
vysokým OF. To v podstatě platí až do 3 let věku. Je potřeba je chránit oblečením a pokrývkou hlavy.
