What is the optical cord used for coming from the head unit to what? Is it for power amps .... and one other question, is there a pre amp for my unit kw-avx820, or is the units self contained equalizer all I have to work with? Thank you.... Dee

It has a optical input probably for CD changer. This unit has a amplifier and equalizer. I reccomend to contact JVC support for more info.
